Where to store all my belongings?

I’m finding myself in a real pickle. I’ve lived in Helsinki for two and a half years now. I’m now planning to move back to the UK for about six months. And of course over the past two years the amount of stuff I own has accumulated drastically. I wouldn’t want to sell or give away all my prized posessions. I’ve begged all my friends on taking my stuff but none of them have any extra room. I absolutely can’t afford to keep my apartment for the six months so I have no idea what to do.

My friend suggested I’d rent a storage room somewhere. That was actually the only and best advice I had gotten so far so I decided to check that out. Turns out you can rent basically a room from a storage company. You can get a strorage space that fits all my stuff from my studio apartment with 100 euros a month. So in total I will have to pay 600 euros while I’m away. That’s only a months rent so it truly is a bargain.

I would have never thought of self storage if it wasn’t for my friend. The storage spaces are Lauttasaari, Vallila, Töölö, Konala and Ruoholahti. Plus side is I don’t have to move my stuff very far since I already live in Lauttasaari. We used to keep our stuff in schools storage spaces when we we’re in uni but these places are nicer and so much tidier.

Now I’m ready to go visit the old country and come back happy and still have my stuff.
